Hungarian PM Orban Responds to Threats Targeting His Family
A video shared on Wednesday shows Orban speaking with one of his daughters over the phone, advising her to stay calm, be careful, and contact him immediately if she senses any danger.
The call came in response to reports in Hungarian media regarding statements made earlier this week by a Ukrainian politician, Grigory Omelchenko. According to reports, Omelchenko referenced the US-Israeli assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, noting that “his wife and other family members were also killed,” and cautioned Orban that he should reconsider his “anti-Ukrainian” stance if he wants to protect his five children and six grandchildren.
Additionally, according to statements, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky recently hinted that he might consider providing Orban’s location to Ukrainian forces so they could “speak to him in their own language.”
Omelchenko, who previously served in Ukraine’s KGB successor agency, the SBU, claimed that the organization he co-founded for former military personnel “does not need a tip from the government to know ‘where he [Orban] lives, where he sleeps, where he drinks beer and wine, smokes shisha, strolls and meets people.’”
