Hungary’s FM reaffirms nation stance on truce of Ukraine-Russia war

(MENAFN) On Monday, Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto reaffirmed his country’s stance that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine must be settled through peaceful negotiations instead of armed conflict. In a statement shared on social media, he stressed that Hungary consistently supports a halt to fighting and favors diplomatic engagement as the way forward.

Szijjarto expressed hope regarding the forthcoming meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, scheduled for August 15 in Alaska, considering it a possible step toward achieving peace. He also mentioned that he had spoken with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov about the upcoming summit.
